Music

Sunday worship

The 8:00 a.m. eucharist is a quiet and tranquil service that is spoken.  Once a year, on Easter Day, we have organ and hymns but we sing the doxology a cappella every Sunday.

The 10:00 a.m. eucharist is a joyful service with organ, hymns and a wonderful choir.  The music is mostly traditional hymns although there are a couple more contemporary songs sung during the time of communion.

The Choir

The Choir is open to anyone who enjoys to sing, to anyone who wants to learn to sing, to anyone who wants to help lead the musical part of the worship on Sundays and special holy days.

Louise Lugar, our wonderful organist, leads choir rehearsals on scheduled Thursday evenings (we don’t meet every single Thursday and never in the summer).  The choir also meets between services on Sunday mornings to fine tune the music for that day.

Other music

About every six weeks to two months, a group of amateur musicians play during the time of communion.  Anyone is welcome to join this impromptu ensemble.  We usually rehearse the Tuesday evening prior to the Sunday we play, as well as on the Sunday morning before worship.  We have had violin, cello, bass, clarinet, flute, guitar, trombone and saxophone.  Come make a joyful noise to the Lord!
